11 vs. 2

Although new to the game, Peter Ray came in knowing a few things like the number he wanted. Peter insisted he be #2 and PeterRay said no way I'm #11. He couldn't give a clear explanation of his reason and as I explained to Peter does he really need one. So #11 he is and he's very proud of it and I'm proud Peter backed off and let him be.

Our little Tiger

Go Tigers!!!! Just the beginning, our little guy is officially playing organized sports. Our team TIGERS, our sport T-BALL. Peter Ray is loving t-ball, I not being a big sport fan actually know allot more about the game than I wanted to admit or should I say acknowledge. 1 month in and I'm yelling & cheering our little tigers on. Peter being an assistant coach and Sophia and I being the support team from snacks to cheers we have all embarrassed this new venture. Making new friends is fun too, I'm meeting very nice people and enjoying my days at the park. One little problem, my crazy allergies nothing is working and some days it gets the best of me. Besides the crazy sneezing attacks and tissue filled pockets T-ball is becoming a part of weekly routine and know I just heard soccer & flag football sign ups are around the corner. We'll test the grounds just about every where and let PeterRay decide where he feels good.

MY BABIES

NO WHITE SHOES

THOSE WHO KNOW ME, KNOW I SORT OF LIKE A BIT OF COLOR IN MY LIFE AND IN MY CLOTHES. THIS EASTER I CAME ACROSS SOPHIA'S DRESS AT SAMS CLUB FOR $15 WHAT A BUY, I THOUGHT IT WOULD LOOK NICE FOR EASTER AND I TRIED TO REPLICATE HOW MY MOTHER WOULD DRESS MY SISTER AND I; WITH GLOVES, HATS AND WHITE PATENT LEATHER SHOES. THE GLOVES AND HATS I COULD DO BUT THE WHITE SHOES ARE A BIT HARD FOR ME TO SWALLOW IF YOU MAY. SO OUT I WENT LOOKING FOR DELICATE PINK OR EVEN BROWN SHOES FOR SOPHIA. TO NO AVAIL COULD I FIND THEM, IF THEY HAD THEM THEY WERE OUT OF HER SIZE AND SO ON. I ALMOST RETURNED MY GREAT FIND OF A DRESS AND HER TARGET $1 GLOVES ALL BECAUSE OF THE SHOES. I FINALLY OPTED FOR GOLD BALLET SLIPPERS I FOUND IN HER CLOSET, LONGER STORY LONG. ONCE WE MADE OUR WAY TO THE STUDIO THE PHOTOGRAPHER TOLD ME NO SHOES AND HERE YOU GO...NO SHOES FOR THE PHOTO. STILL HAVE TO FIND SHOES FOR EASTER SUNDAY...SILLY SILLY ME:)

OUR SOPHIA TURNING 2

I can't believe she's almost 2. I have so many friends with kids graduating from High School this year and I see how time flies. Peter always reminds me to cherish these times with the kids and all they bring to my plate. At times I'm not as patient or have the best responses to them. I'm sorry and guilty as ever when I get to this point and usually blame myself for either staying up too late or just not prioritizing better. Peter and I are a good match, he being the more calm and I being the organizer. Sophia has presented us with a bit of a challenge and another outlook on parenting. She is very independent, stubborn and an actress. Not so loud as PeterRay but definitely gets her point across. The stubbornness is our challenge and as always Peter gives me the bright perspective on it. If she refuses to say sorry, or go to timeout. His reply is usually to the liking of "she knows what she wants and stands by her convictions", he says this so proudly. Explaining to me in time this will benefit her, I don't think Sophia will have problems with speaking her peace or holding her ground. With this positive outlook I look at her and admire her already for her strength. Happy Birthday pretty little Girl!

PEACEFUL SEAL BEACH SHORE '09

NICE

SERIOUS SOPHIA

PETER-RAY THE EXPLORER

Another day at the beach!

Well it was just another sunny day in Southern California. The kids and I had a rough week this particular week in March. I ended it with a trip to our favorite Pizza shop in Seal Beach and a surprise walk on the boardwalk, a rump in the playground and the finally on the shore! Peter Ray swore he saw a shark and a dolphin, Sophia on the other hand didn't really like the wet sand on her feet or hands. She was a trooper and once she realized it was free play & no stroller she ran with it. Yes I had my stroller with us, lugged it through the sand just to get to the shore/water---wow what a hike. I really should be a spokes person for Bugaboo, I go no where without it.

It was nice putting a good flip on this week, the kids fell asleep on the way home & I felt rejuvenated. Funny how the beach can be so calming no matter what the circumstances, be it alone or with kids:)

Koi

Well PeterRay finally got his fish. He'd been asking for one for a while. I had to figure out a way of rewarding him with this special request that will also include a chore. I explained to him if he could sleep without a pull-up for 1 week straight and wake up dry of course, I'd consider a fish. I also explained he needed to feed the fish by his self every day, without having to be told. We've had 2 weeks of no accidents, dry sheets and blankets yah! So off I went fish fishing!

So far 6 hours into this new game, he's named his fish and constantly sits around him, talking to him and looking at him. I think this was a great idea----tonight. Time will tell. By the way the fish's name is Koi. He gets the name and probably identified our multi colored gold fish with the Koi fish at the Fashion Island Koi Pond. So the name Koi was a no brainer for PeterRay to pick out for his new fish; nevertheless Koi he is..welcome Koi to the Gonzalez home:)

Counting Sheep

It is so funny how from 8am-8pm my kids are either fighting, yelling, playing, and snitching on each other; however, from 8pm-8am they are at peace with each other and no blanket or pillow can separate them from being close to each other.
This picture came to me as I was checking in on them the other night and it made me happy to be their Mom.
